Congratulations to one of our Staff of The Week, Alexis Davis - Ms. Davis is always smiling and brings such an upbeat, positive energy to our campus. Her positivity is especially impactful as we head into the final stretch of the school year. She consistently takes initiative to support both students and staff and is always willing to jump in wherever she is needed. We truly appreciate her dedication, flexibility, and the joy she brings to our school each day!

Please take a look at our latest newsletter for important updates and reminders for our Wildcat families. We are working together to ensure a successful spring for all students.

  • April 6 through 10 is Assistant Principal Week. To celebrate Mr. Fleming and Mrs. Vogel, please wear a favorite team jersey or shirt on Monday, April 6.

  • STAAR testing for grades 3 through 5 begins this week with Reading Language Arts. Please ensure students arrive by 7:35 AM on their testing days.

  • Our campus will be closed to all visitors and volunteers on testing dates, which include April 7, 8, 9, 14, 16, 21, 22, and 23.

  • Join us for Leadership Day on Friday, May 8, from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Please RSVP using the link in the newsletter.

  • We ask families to follow our snack guidelines by providing one snack per designated time and only water in water bottles.

It is Assistant Principal Week at Blackland Prairie Elementary. We are excited to celebrate our amazing leaders, Mr. Fleming and Ms. Vogel.

On Monday, April 6, 2026, we invite all Wildcats to wear their favorite sports jerseys to school.

Mr. Fleming will be representing the Tigers, Michigan, and the color Blue. Ms. Vogel will be sporting the Dallas Cowboys and A&M. We look forward to seeing everyone in their favorite team gear on the Prairie.

At BPE, being a Lighthouse School means our students take the wheel. Our Student Lighthouse Team has spent months practicing Habit 2: Beginning with the End in Mind to architect every detail of this event. From setting "Wildly Important Goals" (WIGs) to organizing the schedule, these young leaders are proving that they don't just learn about leadership—they live it. Come see the "behind the scenes" of their hard work!

It is time to celebrate our latest Staff of the Week at the Prairie. Congratulations to Ms. Reno from our Special Education department. She is always willing to lend a helping hand across campus. Even when it falls outside of her role in the SPED department, she consistently offers her knowledge and support to others, including campuses across the district. We are incredibly lucky to have her as such a dependable and generous resource.

What a wonderful start to the day! We had a spectacular turnout for our morning Future Wildcat signing event. It was a joy to see the excitement on the faces of our incoming learners as they officially joined the Blackland Prairie Elementary family and met our mascot. We are already looking forward to a great year of leadership and growth together.

If you weren't able to join us this morning, don't worry! We would like to invite all other new families to join us for our afternoon session. We cannot wait to welcome more of our newest students to the Prairie!

Hello Blackland Prairie families. We have several exciting events and important updates to share with our community as we head into April.

- Volunteers are needed for the Kindergarten and 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony Committee to help make these milestones special.
- STAAR testing begins in April for 3rd through 5th grade students, so please review the schedule to ensure your child arrives by 7:35 AM on testing days.
- We are focusing on math as our Wildly Important Goal this year and encourage you to ask your students about their specific math goals.
- Please remember our snack guidelines of one snack per designated time and water only in water bottles to support a healthy environment.

We are excited to announce our Staff of the Week, Ms. Su Thi Ariola. As a dedicated second grade teacher and a member of our Academic Action Team, Ms. Ariola played a vital role in making our recent STEAM Night a huge success.

Her leadership and creativity helped provide our students and families with an evening of hands-on learning and exploration. We are incredibly grateful to our Blackland Prairie families for providing a delicious Ramadan lunch for our staff today. It was a beautiful opportunity for our team to enjoy a variety of traditional dishes and learn more about the traditions celebrated by many in our community.
