As we begin our first full week back to school, we want to introduce to some new Wildcats.
"Hello! My name is Brittany Long, and I’m excited to be teaching 1st grade this year at BPE! This is my 5th year teaching, and I absolutely love being part of each child’s learning journey. Outside of the classroom, I love watching football, spending quality time with my family, and baking. I’m looking forward to a fantastic year with all of you!"
What a great first week at the Prairie! Our Wildcats are settling into their routines and we are proud of the safe, respectful, and responsible behavior we are seeing. Here are a few important reminders for the upcoming week:
Beginning Monday, August 18, any student arriving after 7:35 AM must be signed in at the front office by a parent or guardian.
If your child is going to be absent, please use the Absence Reporting Form linked in the Wildcat Weekly to let us know.
For same day dismissal changes, please use the "Request for a Change of Dismissal Today Only Form" also linked in the newsletter. This form closes daily at 2:20 PM.
Orientation Night is on August 28. We look forward to seeing you there!

A few reminders for a smooth first week:
* On the first day of school, parents are welcome to walk their children to class. Starting Wednesday, please say goodbye at the perimeter doors.
* Please review the drop-off and pick-up procedures with your child. The instructional video can be found in the Wildcat Weekly.
* If you need to change your child's dismissal plan, please call the front office before 2:00 PM.
* Lunch visitors will be welcomed starting August 25.
* Every 2nd through 5th grade student will receive a new Chromebook this year.
* Orientation Night is on August 28.

Welcome back, Wildcats! We are so excited to begin the 2025-2026 school year with our Blackland Prairie Elementary families. Here are a few important announcements to get the year started:
The first day of school is Tuesday, August 12.
Join us for Meet the Teacher Night and supply drop-off on Wednesday, August 7, from 4:30 to 6:00 PM.
Class assignments will be posted at the school's front doors on Thursday, August 7 at 2:00 PM.
We have a new school website! Check it out for helpful resources and the latest updates. You can find a walkthrough video in the Wildcat Weekly.
Parents who wish to walk their child to class on the first day must complete the form in the newsletter by Sunday, August 8 at 11:59 PM. This is the only day parents will be able to walk students to their classrooms.
School starts at 7:35 AM, with doors opening at 7:10 AM.
