4th-Grade Goes To the Grand Canyon

This week, Ms. Rice, a fourth-grade teacher at Blackland Prairie, and Mrs. Rollans, the Instructional Technology Specialist, took four of our fourth-grade classes on a Google Expedition to explore slow changes to the Earth. The students explored the Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park, and the Namibian Desert in Africa, looking at how the geography of the Earth changes over time. They found evidence of erosion, deposition, and weathering in all the various landscapes. While visiting the actual Grand Canyon would be the ultimate field trip, the students enjoyed being able to see it in one class setting!
