Mrs. Reynolds’ fifth grade students have a class meeting every Friday to discuss the week and what went well and what could be improved in the following week. Each week, students create a slideshow for the meeting to keep it moving. They utilize the same topics every week, but choose pictures they feel represent the week. By taking control of the format of the meeting, students gain ownership of the experience.
One note, their WIGs are “Wildly Important Goals” and the students report on the progress they are making towards achieving their classroom goals.
