Fourth Grade Uses 3D Printing To Represent Texas

Mrs. Rollans and a small group of Mrs. Keller’s fourth graders used Tinkercad, a 3D modeling program on the computer, to create objects representing areas of Texas. The students had to decide on their object then figure out how to create models of them on the computer. They discussed that the objects had to have a flat bottom and everything had to be supported, otherwise the print would fail. Two girls created a tornado and had to flip it over so it would print correctly. These students spent two weeks creating their projects and iterating their designs so they would print correctly. We are so proud of these students who went through the design process and created amazing models.
